By my calculations, Chuck Lorre's ultra popular ode to geek culture has had us all in stitches for 183 episodes now, but no matter how big a fan you are, I bet there are still some little known facts about the show that have slipped you by.
Brush up on your Big Bang knowledge with these 10 insane trivia tidbits that'll only enhance your nerdy love for the series!

1. Penny could conceivably be related to one of the main characters, as her surname is the only one to not yet be revealed.

However, in an interview Chuck Lorre said her surname is Barrington, but who knows what twists await in future episodes...

2. The original title for the show was much more literal

Lenny, Penny and Kenny doesn't quite have the same ring to it.

3. Leonard doesn't really wear glasses - if you look closely, you can see that his frames don't actually have any lenses in them!

4. Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki experienced love at first take, filming this emotional scene in just one shot!

Kaley said to Johnny:
"I don't know about you, but when we started the scene, the cameras and the live audience all went away and it was just us."

5. Sheldon Cooper and Leonardo DiCaprio have exactly one thing in common: their German dub voice actor

His name is Gerrit Schmidt-Foß. Can you imagine these two with the same voice?

6. Mayim Bialik is the only major cast member who actually has a PhD!

She received it for her research into the hypothalamic activity in patients with Prader–Willi syndrome.

7. Jim Parsons' second audition to play Sheldon was so impressive, Chuck Lorre hired him on the spot

8. There's a species of bee named after the show, and it has the most perfect name: 'Euglossa Bazinga'!

9. Despite Sheldon's on-screen adoration for the show, actor Jim Parsons has never seen an episode of Star Trek...or Doctor Who.

10. The cast and crew have organized some legendary on-set flash mobs!
